Men of the Word
Our men gather together, alternating Thursdays to better understand the truth of God’s Word, so that we may live out that truth as men committed to loving God, leading (or preparing to lead) our families well (or future families), and leading others to see the beauty and wisdom of knowing Christ.
The opportunity to have conversations unique to men is a healthy way to build into our men’s lives and see Christ exalted. We strive together to grow by God’s grace in our faithfulness to Christ Jesus and His saving Gospel through first clearly explaining the Scriptures and then poignantly asking life application questions addressed by the texts.
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth– 2 Timothy 2:15
Because only the truth can produce true unity, this group focuses on first rightly understanding the authorial intent of various Scriptures and then applying it in our lives. We seek to live our lives in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, standing firm in one spirit, with one mind contending together for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27). Additionally, prayer is a crucial component of each discipleship meeting.
